Submission format

- FULL PAPERS Submission (Deadline : EXPIRED)

Submit full papers of a maximum of 14 pages in PDF format, using the conference tool. Submissions for full papers are anonymous. Papers should be formatted according to LNCS (Lecture Notes in Computer Science) format (templates can be found at Springer-Verlag LNCS Authors’ Instructions page). Proceedings will be published in this series.

- Tutorials Submission (Deadline: EXPIRED)

Submit one PDF file including an extended tutorial proposal (background of the tutor(s), title, objectives of the tutorial, content, intended audience, and a 2 page abstract for the advanced program). This should take up no more than 4 pages in total. The PDF file needs to be submitted by the deadline date to the INTERACT 2005 submission site.

Submissions for tutorials are NOT anonymous, but will receive at least 3 reviews from leaders in the specified area of HCI. Abstracts should be formatted according to LNCS (Lecture Notes in Computer Science) format (templates can be found at Springer-Verlag LNCS Authors'Instructions page).

- Workshops Submission (Deadline: EXPIRED)

Submit a workshop proposal (2 pages) using a conference tool by the deadline. The abstract will be required to conform to the LNCS (Lecture Notes in Computer Science) format (templates can be found at Springer-Verlag LNCS Authors’ Instructions page) and will be published in adjunct proceeding.

- Doctoral Consortium Submission (Deadline: EXPIRED)

To apply as a student participant in the Doctoral Consortium, you should prepare a submission package consisting of the two parts listed below. The first part must be submitted electronically through the INTERACT CRS system and the second must be submitted via email directly to one of the chairs.

Participants selected to present a talk about their work have to prepare a 2-page description of their research to be published in the INTERACT adjunct proceeding. This 2-page description will be required to conform to the LNCS (Lecture Notes in Computer Science) format (templates can be found at Springer-Verlag LNCS Authors’ Instructions page).

Submit, using the conference tool, an extended abstract of a maximum of 2 pages in PDF format PLUS 1 page description with the following information:

  • Interest and relevance of the SIG to INTERACT 2005
  • Assumed attendee background
  • Format of discussion including, informal list of topics and time allocated to each (roughly)
  • Name of primary contact person

The extended abstract will be required to conform to the LNCS (Lecture Notes in Computer Science) format (templates can be found at Springer-Verlag LNCS Authors’ Instructions page) and should not be anonymous. Accepted SIGs will be presented at the conference and published in the conference adjunct proceeding.

An overview statistics about all accepted contributions at INTERACT 2003 are as follows:

Tutorials (total of 8 from 6 countries out of 19 submissions were accepted [42%]; 1 Denmark, 1 Finland, 1 Italy, 1 Sweden, 2 UK, 2 USA).

Workshops (total of 8 from 8 countries out of 13 submissions were accepted [62%]; 1 Austria, 1 Belgium, 1 Canada, 1 Denmark, 1 South Africa, 1 Sweden, 1 Switzerland, 1 UK).

Doctoral Consortium (total of 7 out of 12 submissions were accepted [58%]).

Full Papers (total of 82 from 20 countries out of 241 submissions were accepted [34%]; 1 Australia, 1 Belgium, 1 Brazil, 3 Canada, 1 China, 6 Denmark, 3 Finland, 4 France, 2 Germany, 5 Japan, 4 Netherlands, 2 New Zealand, 2 Sweden, 2 Switzerland, 1 Thailand, 13 UK, 30 USA, 1 Yugoslavia).
