General Information

We invite researchers and practitioners to submit their work to the poster category of MobileHCI 2016. Work that is best suited for a poster submission includes – but is not limited to – preliminary results, provoking and current topics, novel experiences or interactions that have not been fully tested but show great promise, summaries of small-scale studies, design explorations etc. Posters provide the opportunity for researchers to get feedback on early-stage work, discuss potential collaborations and discuss the burning issues in MobileHCI in an informal manner with the larger MobileHCI community. Poster abstracts appear in the ACM DL. Copyright is retained by the authors, and the material from them can be used as the basis for future publications as long as there are “significant” revisions from the original.

Preparing the Submission

All poster submissions must include an extended abstract in PDF format.

The extended abstract has a maximum limit of 8 pages, including all figures and references, and must be in the SIGCHI Extended Abstracts Format. The submission will be blind reviewed and must be anonymized --- please remove names and affiliations from the first page and any other material that would allow authorship to be easily identified by the reviewers. Your extended abstract should be submitted by May 13th 2016 to the Precision Conference System.

Your submission must be original work. It cannot have been published elsewhere, nor can it be under concurrent review for publication by another conference or journal. All references must be complete, accurate, accessible to the HCI public, and conform to the Conference Proceedings Publication Format. Do not cite publications that are proprietary or confidential at the time of publication. Final camera-ready versions of accepted submissions therefore must be accompanied by a signed copyright form which will be provided to accepted authors. All submissions conflicting with one or more guidelines will be removed before the reviewing process.

Reviewing

Posters will be reviewed by members of the MobileHCI Poster Session Committee. Confidentiality of submissions is maintained during the review process. All rejected submissions will be kept confidential in perpetuity. All submitted materials for accepted submissions will be kept confidential until the start of the conference.

Presentation at the conference

Upon acceptance you should prepare your poster in order to effectively communicate your research problem, techniques, results, highlighting what is novel and important about your work. For each accepted poster, at least one author must register for the MobileHCI 2016 conference by the early registration deadline.. During a dedicated poster session, authors will have the opportunity to accompany their posters, present and discuss them with conference attendees. The posters are recommended to be in A0 or similar format (84cm x 119cm / 33 x 47), and must be in portrait orientation. Authors are expected to bring the accepted posters to the conference site with them and be present throughout the poster session.

Final submission

Please submit your camera-ready version without any copyright notice. Subsequently, ACM will send you a copyright form, which you have to complete. Once completed, we will provide you with the new copyright information to be put into your paper. You can then submit the final version (including the new copyright notice) through the submission system.

More information

Accepted submissions will be presented as a poster at the conference. Accepted Poster abstracts will be included in the ACM Digital Library as part of the MobileHCI 2016 Adjunct Proceedings. If you have questions about Posters for MobileHCI 2016, contact the Poster Chairs. .
