The University of Brescia represents the second largest Engineering
Campus in Lombardia. Since 1991, the Department of Elettronica
per l'Automazione is in charge of research and education in
different fields of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
DEA develops research in the fields of Computer Science,
Automatic Control, Electronics, Electromagnetic Fields, Operative
Research, Telecommunications.
The Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) group at DEA develops
research in the fields of visual languages, design methodologies
and development of visual computing environments.
The HCI team has established various joint researches with
scientists worldwide. Among them: S. K. Chang of the University
of Pittsburgh and Knowledge System Institute; H. Linger of
the University of Monash, Melbourne; C. Garbay of IMAG-CNRS
Grenoble. The HCI group is member of the Pictorial Computing
Laboratory (PCL) chaired by S. Levialdi, University of Rome,
and of the European Research Network for Cognitive Vision
Systems (EC-Vision).
